Charities
The Alpha Global Expedition has nominated two charities to support during my circumnavigation. The emphasis is on children's health and welfare both at home in the United Kingdom and around the world. By far the greatest achievement of my voyage will be to raise funds to help children: children fighting disease and ill-health, children decimated by disaster and those facing terrible circumstances beyond their ability to escape or control.
Please help me to realize one of the Alpha Global Expedition's primary objectives, to make a difference for children, by making a donation, no matter how small.

Save the Children fights for children around the world suffering poverty, disease, injustice and violence. |
Having been born in Africa and travelled widely throughout Asia, India and Sri Lanka, I have witnessed first hand the ravages of war, poverty and a lack of education on children. Save the Children's work in emergencies, HIV and Aids, health, education, children's rights and exploitation is uncompromising, focussed and unrelenting.

The Oxford Children's Hospital opened in January 2007.
This state-of-the-art facilities designed specifically for children and young people
will treat 65,000 youngsters from across the region and the UK every year. So
far £13.3million of the £15 million target has been raised. By fulfilling the £15m
target we will ensure Trust contingency plans do not need to be applied.
